Build Your Own R2-D2 1.1.30_release

This application is designed to enhance the functionality of DeAgostini's Build Your Own R2-D2 by allowing users to control the droid's advanced features and access its camera view. It operates exclusively when R2-D2 has been fully assembled and powered on.

Upon installation on your smartphone, the app offers two connection modes: Direct mode, where you connect directly to R2-D2's internal router, and Local mode, which requires both devices to connect via a local Wi-Fi network. Entering Local mode is facilitated by teaching R2-D2 the area's Wi-Fi connection through a unique QR code that he can read with his camera.

Within both connection modes, users can choose between Video Control and Normal Control:

• Video Control: Activating this option displays a live feed from R2-D2's camera on your smartphone screen. The view dynamically adjusts as you navigate the droid or turn its head. A set of remote control buttons overlays the video feed, enabling you to capture still images or video clips from R2-D2’s perspective. These media can be saved in the app’s Gallery or transferred to your phone's library. Additionally, a scrollable menu presents various automatic routines, including autonomous Patrol mode for exploration, activation of lights and sounds, lightsaber ejection, and playback of video clips from R2-D2's projector.
• Normal Control: This mode functions similarly to a traditional remote control, allowing you to direct R2-D2 throughout its environment while maintaining access to the same automatic routines available in Video Control.

An additional Settings feature lets users enable voice control, allowing R2-D2 to respond to a variety of spoken commands. Furthermore, users can activate facial recognition capabilities, enabling the droid to identify and follow human faces amidst its surroundings. Sound effects can also be toggled on or off as desired.
